I had the amazing pleasure of photographing this little man here visiting all the way from France on Saturday! His parents are long time family friends of ours and we have waited 2 years to meet their handsome son in person. He was born just over a week before my daughter was and we’ve been trying to set them up on a “date” ever since haha! They asked if they could book a session with me while they were in town and I was so honoured to take photos of them and their little one! Actually it was technically two little ones as there is another new family member joining them in a few short months. I have to say, photographing a child who speaks only french was a challenge with what little I remember from my classes in high school, but I got by with a few rounds of “comme ca?”, “s’il vous plait”, “merci beaucoup” and we must not forget all the monkey sounds (which evidently translate well and he was loving until the end when he pointed at me and said “ARRETE!” HAHAHA!) We had a great walk in the trails together and then headed home to start preparations for Halloween the following day. Halloween is not as popular in France so this would be a great chance for this family to experience a North American Halloween. They came over Sunday night and my daughter had a little trick-or-treating buddy all night long…and subsequently they discovered the joys of the “sugar rush” that occurs after trick-or-treating is done haha! After bedtime I got to enjoy the “wine rush” that comes after the sugar laced bedtime routine and managed to get a little editing done before it was my bedtime too! Thank you so much for hiring me to photograph your family! It has been great getting to know you all a little better!
