Building and Bugs and Babies, OH MY!

I thought I should write a quick little note to let any of you followers know that I am still alive (barely) haha! The past two weeks have been CHAOS around here so I haven’t had anything to post or any time to post it in either! It all started a couple of weeks ago when my daughter spiked a fever of 104 and that landed us with a couple of trips to the hospital in the middle of the night to make sure she wasn’t getting dehydrated. Turns out it was bronchitis…then an ear infection…oh and don’t forget some teething as her eye teeth are coming through right now as well. That all seemed cleared up, and she was finally back at daycare which is when I get my editing done normally. Things were back on track…for 2 days haha! Then a couple of weekends ago she came down with a stomach bug that has been circulating her daycare. As she recovered, I got the stomach bug! I don’t get sick often, but when I do it tends to hit me HARD! So then there was last week where she missed all 3 of her daycare days and I was sick as a dog at the beginning of the week which puts me about a week behind in my work schedule.

Then there was the building part of things. I have had to do a remodel in one of the rooms that is off the studio part of my basement. I have not scheduled sessions the past two weeks because I knew this would be occuring now and calming a baby doesn’t work so well with drilling going on in the other room! I also had some small jobs to be done in the studio itself so needless to say it’s been extremely hectic around this place!

I am so grateful to have such wonderful and PATIENT clients who are all being very understanding about needing to wait a little longer for their products or to see their galleries, I promise I am cutting through the backlog everyone so thank you so much for bearing with me through all of this!

Even though I miss working and editing and shooting, I have to say that even with all the insanity it has been nice to have some quiet recovery days at home with my own family and be able to enjoy the little moments that I sometimes race through to get my work done. Here is one of those moments with my daughter and her “fauxhawk” while she was on the mend…
