Today is my daughter’s first birthday. I can’t believe how the year has flown and all that has happened in such a short time! We had a little party for her at a local farm over the weekend and today we did her official cake smash! I’ve been excited for this session since she was BORN! Unfortunately for me she had an ugly case of PCS (Photographer Child’s Syndrome) today and was not thrilled about smashing into a cake hahaha! Luckily I had some tricks up my sleeve today to get her to dig in and she was happy after we pulled those out…for a minute anyways.
To my baby girl:
Your dad and I love you SO much and we always talk about how we can’t even remember what life was like before you. Thank you so much for being an “easy” baby and for your general awesomeness. You honestly make this parenting thing fun…challenging at times as with any baby, but so much FUN! A few weeks ago you learned how to give hugs. I won’t be bitter about the fact that you hugged the lamb chair from your Auntie Judy before you hugged me…honest. Tonight before bed we were playing with your new toys (you spoiled little thing) and you just got up and literally ran to me and fell into my arms with a big hug. You even like to pat us on the back while you hug haha! It was just one of those moments that I never want to forget, sitting there with your little head on my shoulder after a long and stressful day of moving related crapola. You are loved by so many people and I’m just so proud that you’re our baby and we get to love you most of all…and we always will.
Mommy (AKA “yaya”)
Those little piggies…are all covered in cake! (Your grannie loves to talk to you all about what your “piggies” are doing…especially all the shopping they do! When daddy does it you fall asleep every time!)
