I met this little guy’s mom at the Once Upon a Belly baby fair and I was so excited when she booked her Watch Me Grow Collection because she was a glowing mama to be. Her maternity was posted here a little while ago and before I knew it, it was time for her newborn session with her baby boy! He was full of smiles for me and he was just the cutest little boy! I always love when I see a couple for maternity photos and then see their family grow right before my eyes at the newborn session. Looking forward to seeing him again soon and just how fast he has grown from here! Thanks so much you guys.

This family has been VERY patient, waiting to capture images like these for a YEAR! Last year they were models for a workshop I was hosting and on the day of our session we headed to this location to be hit by hurricane force winds when we got there. Despite that day with its horrible weather, this family showed up ready and even EXCITED for their shoot. Unfortunately it was really just too windy to capture many good shots and so I offered to reshoot this summer when we finally had some lovely sunny weather for a beach session. The weather was DEFINITELY on our side this time and we got some lovely images of everyone I hope they will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you so much for all your patience you guys. I hope the wait was worth it!

This family received their session as a gift a while ago and were ready to redeem it this summer. I was a little nervous about the location they had decided they would like as full sun can be a challenge due to harsh lighting and that I wasn’t too familiar with New Brighton Beach as a shooting location, but I was absolutely THRILLED with how the images turned out from this session. I had such a blast photographing this family and at the end this cute little man’s cousins came to meet us to get in a couple of photos and take some near the greek restaurant their grandparents own in North Burnaby. We were lucky we could get out there early enough in the morning to still have some soft lighting to work with and I really love the feel of their whole session. I think it’s one of those times where pushing myself outside of my comfort zone paid off in a big way. Thanks guys for trusting in me to capture a place that you all visit and enjoy often. It was a beautiful day with an equally beautiful family!

We also wandered down Hastings in North Burnaby to capture a shot under the historic “Heights” sign which used to be the “Helen’s” sign in front of Helen’s dress shop. As someone who grew up in Burnaby I remember fondly trips to that store to get dresses for any nice events we had. I can vividly remember wanting a dress so badly because it was the one that twirled the best. My mom said no to that one, but it’s a memory I’m sure many Burnaby girls have from their younger years. I was so happy this family wanted to capture that sign for their photos and it was fun to chat about the history behind it too.

Another day at the lake (I had a few in a row at that location in August because it was just so BEAUTIFUL there I couldn’t leave it!). This is another of my Watch Me Grow Collection families and their little lovely girl is a year old already! My session results can depend on what the kiddos bring to the session too and let me tell you…this little lady BROUGH IT! She was just as adorable as she was the first day we met shortly after she was born. It was another warm, sunny day and we enjoyed some time in the meadow and then walked down to the lake where she got a surprise visit from some Canadian Geese which she thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you guys for choosing me to capture her first year! I hope to see you again as she grows!

Another little girl came to see me during the summer and was just as cute as the last. I am so lucky to have a job where I get to spend my summer days meeting beautiful families and capturing images for them to cherish forever. This little girly was just as sweet as the last one and even though she wasn’t quite sitting on her own very solidly yet she held up for her session despite the hard work we had her doing challenging her new skill set. These are just the best kind of days!
