Holy moly!  This session reminds me just how many blog posts I have to go before I’m caught up here!  How embarrassing!  This sweet little dude is 1!  I have been photographing him as part of the Watch Me Grow Collection since he was just a wee newborn.  It has been my pleasure to work with him and his family.  I’m always shocked when the baby plan babies come back in and are so big!  I simply cannot believe how fast that first year goes every time and how much change happens in such a short time.  Thank you for allowing me to capture this special year in your lives!

The image below is what the storyboard looks like at the end of the year with the Watch Me Grow Collection.  It really shows the change!

WOW!  It has been way too long since I had some regular posts going up!  With all of the problems I was having with my website, I wasn’t able to access the admin section of the blog while my team was working on that for me so I had to take a bit of a forced break from the blog and it’s taken me a while to get back to it and let all the dust settle.  For anyone wondering what exactly happened with my site, the short version is that I signed up with a website company when I started my business 5 years ago.  They started to receive some negative reviews which made me nervous, but for me, service seemed fine so I stayed with them.  Recently (from November 2012-January 1013) I was not getting any emails from my contact form.  Since my business email was still working I was working away on emails from families who have already worked with me and others so I had no idea there was a problem.  Once I realized what was going on, I contacted the website company who said it was fine and not their fault (several other photographers had the same issue who use them and all during the same time period).  I hired someone to rebuild my site and it was not a simple process because the old company still had access to many things having to do with my site and would not provide us with needed information readily.  I am so happy that it’s all over and everything has been moved so I can carry on blogging and running my business smoothly again!  If you did happen to email me in or around that time frame and I never got back to you, this may be why and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Enough frustrating news and on to the photography now!  This little angel is the newest addition to the gang for long time family friends of ours.  I have photographed them a few times now and it is always a pleasure.  I can’t believe how long ago this session seems.  She was just over the other day and is already able to sit up!  Where does the time go?

This little lady is going to have her hands full with two older brothers who are both firey red heads haha!

This family came to me after moving to Vancouver from the states. I did a session with them when their oldest was just a few months old. Now it was time to welcome their most recent addition, a cute little boy, to the family! I could not believe how well spoken their little girl was and just what a lovely little girl she has grown up to be. She was so polite and even wandered upstairs from the home studio in the basement to visit with my husband and chat with him about Ella’s toys while we did our session downstairs. What a confident and sweet girl. You guys are doing a great job. Whatever you’re doing, it’s WORKING! Thank you for coming to see me again!

How big brothers feel when they get a big kiss from their sister…apparently they feel that way from birth hahaha!

And I couldn’t let this little cutie sneak away without getting one of her on her own!

At the end of September our own little ladybird turned 4! REALLY…where does the time go?!?! Last year I did some photos of her in this same location and I intend to do them here every year on her birthday to see how she changes. Each year it gets a little easier to work with her for photos and we had a great time playing together and getting some great shots. Even though we were having fun she did have her moments and this is why when parents stress out if their little ones aren’t exactly cooperative during a session I just have to laugh it off. By the end of our half hour shoot, she wanted to make her own poses up and that was when we got what turned out to be my favourite shot!

  • Jenn - Love it! I intend on doing the same with Maddi… I’ll remember these photos when I don’t get her cooperation during these shoots.ReplyCancel

What a small world it is. When I met this mama at the Once Upon A Belly Baby fair I liked her right away and was so glad when she booked her newborn session with me. When we were chatting I learned that she later realized she works with a close family friend! This little girl wasn’t easy to settle and was a long feeder which contributed to this being my longest newborn session ever. That being said, her mom and dad were so fun to chat with I honestly didn’t even notice how much time had passed until after they headed out! I really loved photographing your family and I hope to see you again as this little sweetheart grows! Thanks guys!

  • Auntie Cheri - I am still giggling at the expressions you caught on Ellie’s face, they are indeed priceless. Of course with ones of Angie and Peter are over the top great too :) Great photographs that will be enjoyed till kingdom come.
