This summer really was the summer that just didn’t end! I met this family at Kits Beach which is a place they love to walk together often. We had a challenge getting everyone smiling at the same time, but we managed to get quite a few. It was such a nice evening to walk along the beach and after the session we stood together watching an absolutely breathtaking sunset with an incredibly vivid pink sky as the sun sunk down below the water. Thank you so much for having me capture your family at this special spot to you guys!

I always find pregnant women to be so beautiful. It’s such a time of change and transformation when you’re in it that sometimes I think women fail to see the actual beauty that is there. I know I certainly felt nothing but huge and cumbersome. I love the joy on a woman’s face when she sees the kind of images we are getting and what she looks like through her husband’s (and the rest of the world’s) eyes. Women really do have a glow. They just look healthy and serene and simply stunning. This mom to be was CERTAINLY no exception to that rule. In fact, I think she took it to a whole other level and if I can only look HALF this good when I get pregnant again I will be a happy, happy lady hahaha! Thank you so much for trusting me with your maternity photos!

I think this particular image is one of my new favourite maternity shots. I just cannot get over how gorgeous she looks in this one. Good job mama!

I was still savouring every moment I could in the lovely extended summer we had this year. I couldn’t believe how gorgeous September was! This family has known my dad for many years and it was so fun to meet the youngest little one in the family. He has such a personality already that was just shining through the whole time. He would just smile with joy when he’d find a rock he liked and he loved playing around at the lake as we went for our walk. What a lovely way to spend the last of our sunny days of the year. I think I might just have the best job in the world…

My business partner for weddings, Trina, of Trina Lianne Photography has had a baby of her own in September and is on maternity leave. This family had been to see her for their first born and unfortunately she couldn’t fit them in when their second arrived due to her maternity leave. As we have a similar style, we often refer between one another if there are families either of us cannot accommodate and I am so grateful for such a great relationship with other photographers like this so that we can all serve the families who come to us better. I really enjoyed meeting this lovely family and photographing their newest baby. They came here all the way from Nanaimo for their session and I was so glad the timing worked out for us to fit a session in for them while they were in town! Their eldest daughter was another very well behaved little girly so I have been very lucky to have so many great big sisters and brothers in here lately! Thank you so much for coming to see me!

I love the expressions she gave her mom when it was time for their mom and me photos. So cute!

Newborn smiles just kill me every time!

This family came to see me for newborn photos with their first and an image of their sweet (not so little anymore) man with his dad has been up on our studio wall ever since. I was thrilled when they booked a session to capture the same stage for the newest addition, a beautiful little girl, to their family. What a sweet, caring and gentle little person their son has grown into! I think he is one of the most well behaved toddlers I have ever met! I’m pretty sure his sister is in love already because I had her posed in the same size bed we used for him when he was born and when he leaned down and gave her a kiss, she broke out the CUTEST little smile right then. Thank you so much for coming back to me guys! I love watching your family grow!
