Today (technically yesterday since I’m posting this at 2:25am haha!), was my daughter’s 3rd birthday. I took some time off this afternoon to take advantage of what will likely be one of the last warm days for us this season and have a portrait session with her. She was so happy to see me show up at daycare and we headed down the hill to a little field I have had my eye on for a while now. We set down our things and started to collect flowers, grass and rocks in her basket as I snapped away. We then played a fun game of “go, go, go, STOP!” as people standing at a nearby bus stop laughed at us acting so crazy in the field haha! I love that she is old enough to engage now and that she can have as much fun as I do at our little photo shoots. Without this little girl, I wouldn’t have ever started my business in the first place and I owe everything to her. She is my whole world and she is a very special muse for me and my photography. I don’t get out there with her very often, but when I do, we have such a fun time. After our photos, we headed home to meet up with “daddy,” open gifts and then out to dinner at a special restaurant for a late dinner. Today was one of the best family days we have ever had. We laughed, danced, sang and ate wayyyy too much dessert. Thank you so much to my sweet baby girl for all you have taught me over the past 3 years and for lighting up our lives. You seem so much older than 3 because you are so bright, funny, caring and kind. I have never met any child like you and I am so lucky that you’re mine. “I love you more today than I did yesterday, but less than I will tomorrow.” And with that I am tearing up and getting all soppy so I suppose this means it is my bedtime.

My favourite of the day is this one as she ran towards me playing our game…
