I know this blog is for my portrait business, but since we don’t yet have a blog up for our weddings work, I just wanted to share a wedding I did a little while ago for my new wedding photography business. The site is www.perfectblendphotography.com for those who are interested in checking out what my team and I do for engagements, weddings and boudoir. We actually photographed this couple’s engagement and civil ceremony last year, and this year it was time for their “big wedding” celebration! Their engagement session was one of the most unique sessions I have ever done. The bride knew her fiance was going to propose soon, but he wanted it to be a surprise so we concocted a story about me having a photographer in town and needing couple’s models. It was a half truth haha! Then, the groom had the jeweler tell his fiance the ring wouldn’t be ready for 2 weeks. She had really been wanting an engagement session in Gastown, so we headed down there and once we had the perfect light and the best set up at the steam clock, we gave him the secret cue and he proposed then and there. What a brave man to get down on one knee in front of 4 photographers and a ton of tourists in the middle of Gastown! Of course their wedding was no less romantic, it was a day filled with love, laughter and a little bit of chaos added in (in other words the perfect wedding day haha!). My business partner, Trina Letawsky, was unavailable for this date so I worked with my fabulous assistant, Sam Payne. Big thanks to Sam for all your help and great work and another HUGE thank you to this couple for sharing so many special moments with us! You both radiate love and happiness wherever you go, no matter what’s going on. Your story is one of the best true love stories I know and I am honoured to have been asked to share in your special day (again).
