Where oh where is my perfect chair????

It is finally here! My first blog contest! As some of you may know I have been on the lookout for the PERFECT chair (or small couch) for my photography business. I just haven’t been able to find what I’m looking for, so I decided it was time to come up with a new way of discovering my next prop…A CONTEST! Maybe you have the perfect chair for me sitting in your garage just taking up space. Perhaps grandma gave you one as a “gift” and you’re just not sure what you want to do with that horrid beautiful lime green, velour, armchair that you “LOVE” (thanks grandma). Or, maybe one day you found a chair sitting out on the curb and thought it was cool, but got it home and realized it didn’t fit with your style. Wherever your funky chairs are hiding, however you found them, I want to see them!

All you have to do to enter the contest is email me at info@ashleighwellsphotography.com with a photo or two of your cool chair along with your contact information by April 17, 2010. The winner will be announced on Monday, April 19th here on my blog so please check back then if you have entered your chair.

The winner will recieve a free session with your chair (which comes with the usual 3 free gift prints) along with an additional 5 gift prints in exchange for the chair they submit the photo of! My concept for the photo session is to take this chair outside somewhere…a beach, a field, a wooded area so the session will take place at a location to be agreed upon by both the winner and myself.

Some questions you may have:

What are you looking for?
I’ve been leaning towards something with sort of a Victorian style to it and other antique/vintage styles. Something colourful would work best, but I’m open to ideas and submissions that don’t meet these requirements so send me pics of any chair you’re willing to part with. Please note that while I will consider all submissions, I will not be able to offer the prize if I do not find the type of chair I’m looking for.

Will I need to transport the chair?

Yes. The winner will need to transport the chair to the agreed upon location and I can handle it from there.

What is included in the winning prize and what if I want to order more than what is included?
Everything included in my standard session fee!
-90 minute session
-information emailed to you regarding your session
-3 gift prints (gift prints are prints sized 8X10 or smaller)
And as a bonus for winning you will also recieve an additional 5 gift prints! If you would like to order more, the winner will also recieve 10% off additional products and collections.

Do I need to sign a model release?
Normally my model release is optional, but due to the nature of the contest a model release will be required so I can post photos on my blog and site of you in your winning chair!

So…you want to take my chair outside?

Yes. You got it right! With spring right around the corner we should be having some nice, warmer weather coming up so while the idea sounds strange I can promise the photos will be great and a ton of fun too!

Why are you looking for a chair in the first place?

You’ll see when you have your session, but really because I want to use it for babies, pregnant mamas and families to sit on during their sessions. It’s just tough to find a chair that photographs well and fits with my style so I decided to turn it over to all of you!

If you have any more questions please feel free to send me an email anytime and I’ll answer as soon as possible!

*The winning chair will be selected by Ashleigh Wells. If weather is poor on the scheduled session date, the session will be rescheduled at the photographer’s discretion. The prize is not transferrable and the chair must be used during the photo session with the winning party. Session MUST take place in May 2010. Prize may not be redeemed for cash value in lieu of the session.
