This document is intended to outline the business policies and procedures used by Ashleigh Wells Photography.

Copyright Information

All images copyrighted by photographer, Ashleigh Wells. It is illegal and unlawful to scan, copy, or reproduce Ashleigh Wells' work in any manner or medium and punishable by law. As an artist, Ashleigh Wells wishes to have complete control over the final look of her client's images, and scanned images damage her reputation as a photographer by distorting and devaluing the image quality.

Thank you for respecting Ashleigh Wells' work and livelihood by choosing not to reproduce her images.

Exclusive Photographer:

Please only bring the people that will be photographed to the session. Also, please do not bring your own camera, camcorder, or recording device to the session.

Proofs

25 edited proofs from your session will be shown in a password protected, online gallery within 2-3 weeks from your session date. Additional images may be provided at the photographer's discretion. All photos not meeting the photographer's artistic standards will be discarded before editing of the final proofs.

Before Your Session

Please have your children dressed and ready to go for their session. This includes hair combing and having their faces clean. Children are more likely to become grouchy if they are fussed with too much before the session.

Liability

Ashleigh Wells and participating photographers use reasonable care at all times during your photo session to keep you and your children safe. They will not be held accountable however for any injuries which may occur as a result of children tampering with equipment or which are beyond her control as a photographer (such as insect bites or stings at outdoor locations, allergic reactions, falls etc.). Ashleigh Wells and participating photographers will ensure your comfort with every pose they set up with your child and should you feel uncomfortable at any time, they ask that you do not hesitate to speak up. Your comfort and safety is the most important part of the experience. In order to minimize any possible reactions, Ashleigh Wells also asks that you please inform her of any allergies you or your child may have so that she can accommodate you safely.

Final Prints

Your final print order will be delivered approximately 2-3 weeks after your order is submitted. If your order is placed after the standard 7 day time period for ordering, Ashleigh Wells may not be able to design custom items and place your order as quickly as usual as customers who place their order within the allotted time frame must be given priority. If your online gallery expires after the 7 day time period and there has not been an order placed, Ashleigh Wells reserves the right to charge a $50 reactivation fee for your gallery. Canvases and other custom items may take up to 4-6 weeks. Ashleigh Wells will contact you by phone or email in order to set up a convenient time for your images to be picked up or delivered.

Portrait Care

Handle your portraits with extreme care. Damage incurred as a result of improper handling, framing or hanging is the responsibility of the client. to offer the date and time to another client.

Retainer Policy

A non-refundable retainer for your session is due within 5 days after booking your appointment. This guarantees the time and date allotted for you. Should payment not be received in this time frame, Ashleigh Wells reserves the right to offer the date and time to another client.

Designs & Cards

Three pre-made card designs will be shown to you. You may make up to three small revisions, any additional revisions will be charged at $50 per hour. For collages, if you'd like revisions after a collage or storyboard has been shown to you, you must first pay a non-refundable retainer on the purchase of a collage. No further revisions will be made without such retainer.

Digital Files

Images are edited to be printed up to 11" X 14". Orders for prints and/or products larger than 11" X 14" placed with Ashleigh Wells Photography will be given a complimentary detail edit to ensure any additional retouching needed for the larger size is done. We cannot guarantee print quality from consumer labs as their printing processes may vary. Prints and products ordered through Ashleigh Wells Photography do come with a quality guarantee as they are printed by us through our professional lab.

Sales are Final

Due to the custom nature of each session, all sales are final.

Retouching

Any retouching beyond the basic retouching we automatically do (small facial scars, blemishes, eye circles) will be charged a fee of $50 per hour. This includes braces, removal of logos/words on shirts, etc.

Re-Shoots

Re-shoots are at the discretion of the photographer; and are not given for regretful personal choices such as hair and clothing choices.

Under the Weather

If your child is feeling ill, please call to reschedule. Ashleigh Wells understands that sometimes, this happens. If you must cancel, please try to do so at least 48 hours before your session.

Travel Fee

There is a $25/hour travel fee for locations 40km outside of Port Moody, B.C.

Payment Options

Ashleigh Wells accepts e-transfers to email address, info@ashleighwellsphotography.com and credit cards via PayPal.

Reprints

All ordered images will be kept on file for one year after your initial order. All images that are not ordered will be kept on file for 3 weeks only. Ashleigh Wells will backup copies of any ordered images onto external hard drive, but will not be held responsible for loss of these files in circumstances beyond her control (electronics failure, fire, flood etc.). If such a loss should occur between the time of your session and ordering, Ashleigh Wells will offer a refund of the money paid at her discretion. You are welcome to place a re-print order from the images you originally purchased. There is a $100 minimum on re-prints.
